I am a small breeder of miniature dachshunds. My love of the breed began with the purchase of my Tootsie Roll, a smooth, shaded red little lady. She stole the hearts of everyone in my family.
I have since acquired a few more "pets." I do my best to breed to the dachshund standard while producing dogs with wonderful temperaments. My dogs are all registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and new owners can be rest assured that their new addition is indeed a purebred dachshund. Pedigrees are available upon request.
My dogs are "home raised" meaning they live in the house with my family and me. They have the run of the house, eat their dog food in our kitchen, and sleep in our beds. You will often see me or any one of my family members on the sofa with several dogs by our side or on our laps. Pet crates are used when we leave the house for their comfort and safety.
You will not see dog kennels and dog runs at my home. My dogs are allowed to run, explore, and play freely under supervision on our acreage just as they are in the house. I have a fenced in area for the dogs to enjoy when we are not outside with them. I have one small outdoor kennel that is used mainly for potty training purposes. It is NOT used to house my dogs!
My alter-ego is that of a sixth grade science teacher.
I am located in the Midwest in rural Northeast Iowa.
